GAGE DAYE NAMED CACC PLAYER OF THE YEAR FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE SEASON

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (March 1, 2011) - Gage Daye of Bloomfield College took home his second straight
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Year award as the All-Conference team was released today. Tyrone Mann-Barnes of the University of the Sciences and Khaleev Ginyard of Dominican College were named co-Rookies of the Year, while Post University's Al Sokaitis was voted Coach of the Year by his peers. Nyack College picked up the annual Team Sportsmanship Award.

Daye, a 6-2 senior guard from Newark, N.J., leads the CACC in scoring and is fourth nationally with 23.5 points per-game. However, Daye is much more than a scorer, as he stands ninth in the conference in rebounds (6.8), second in assists (5.35), sixth in steals (1.77) and he hits the seventh-most three-pointers per-game with 2.15. Daye notched a triple-double against Goldey-Beacom (24 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds) and scored at least 30 points in seven games. Daye is only 18 points away from becoming Bloomfield's all-time leading scorer. Daye led the Deacons to the North Division regular-season championship with a 15-3 conference record and an 18-8 overall mark. The Deacons are currently the ninth-ranked team in the region.
